Social Services Licensing Information

• State Board of Social Worker Licensure, License Types
  LSX is the conditional social work license. Make sure you stay abreast of the regulations for licensure. This license is required for medical type environments.
• Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors, License Types
  There are three levels of licensure. The first is CADC, which is required to work with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorder.
• Behavioral Health Training Resources
  This page includes links to a wide variety of behavioral health training resources and is intended for individuals interested in, or currently working in, the behavioral health field.
• Maine Department of Education Certification & Credentialing
• Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C)
  People who work in the MHRT/Community (MHRT/C) role provide services to adults with serious mental illness. You can qualify for MHRT/C certification through a variety of ways.

Effective immediately, Muskie Institute CFL is paperless (unless other arrangements are made) for all MHSS and MHRT/CSP certificates.

Therefore, Muskie Institute must receive an email address at the time of the application. For MHRT/CSP, please provide the email address of the agency contact who should receive the certificate. For MHSS, if the certificate is to be sent to the student or to the agency, please be sure to provide the appropriate email address.

If there is an extenuating circumstance, whereby a certificate cannot be received electronically, please let us know and we can make an exception. We will need a valid mailing address.

This effort will not only save resources, it will enable certificates to be issued more timely, putting the certificate in your hands sooner. Thank you very much for your cooperation, and for your part in improving this process.
